The Kuwait Initial National Communications under the United Nations Framework Convention for Changin

The first national communication of the central management tool, to communicate the UN’s agreement for the framework of the climate change and the greenhouse gasses was held for the first time since 1994.

 

The Gases that was discussed are considered one of the major causes of the global warming.  The important of lowering of these gases by this decade was affirmed and supported by all participants, the way the global warming phenomena will effect the climate change and rainfall in Kuwait for the next 20 years, studying the rate of sea-level rise and its effect on the sinking of the Kuwaiti coastlines, also, the effect of these changes on the consumption of fresh water in Kuwait.

 

This communication was created in cooperation of governmental bodies, with financial aid from the UNEP, technical & management help of the GEF program, this communication is considered an important tool in raising awareness level of the main stakeholders in the region as well as the average residence.

 

Kuwait considers it as a strategic tool in aiding the state achieve its goals for national development programs. The initial UN agreement with regards to climate change UNFCCC (United Nation Framework Convention on Climate Change) is an international agreement signed by 191 countries, in which the countries committed to put national strategies and plans in place to be better equipped to face the challenges posed by global warming.

 

174 countries signed the KYOTO protocol appendix, which set future goals and timelines for the countries to limit emission levels of pollution in the industrialized countries.

 

The Two conventions collectively represent the international response to the irrefutable response collected by the concerned intergovernmental panel which proves that climate change is a result of human activities.
